In 2021, Jiaodong's first 150,000 tons Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) project was established in Yantai Chemical Industrial Park. The project will serve as a powerful engine driving the green and high-quality development of the chemical park, contributing to the achievement of the "30·60" dual carbon goals.

The project, invested and operated by MOON Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., focuses on constructing CO2 capture, purification, and refinement systems, along with associated supporting facilities. Upon completion, it will produce 150,000 tons of liquid CO2 annually, aiming to become a core supply hub for liquid CO2 serving the Jiaodong Peninsula, Weifang, Zibo, and other areas.
